Construction materials/suppliers study 2012
2012
Despite increasing prices for raw materials and energy, the fierce competitive environment and the volatile economy, the construction supply industry in Germany and Switzerland is seeing a positive future.
After the recent boom years, the industry expects positive (albeit moderate) growth of about 2% per year up through 2013. Only public construction and civil engineering are expected to experience negative growth. Despite the otherwise rosy outlook, German construction suppliers expect their customers to exert more price pressure (93%) and for price competition to heat up (95%). Companies in the industry see growth opportunities primarily in expanding their own service portfolios (73%) and developing new customer segments (58%) and new markets (49%).
These are the key findings of our study "Construction materials and supply 2012".
